LEAD PURCHASING AGENT

MORryde is currently seeking a Lead Purchasing Agent to join our Materials Team. In this vital role, you will manage processes throughout the material’s life cycle. Along with managing supplier relations, you will also be involved with many other internal departments including, Production, Sales, Engineering, Accounting, and Administration. 

MORryde is a fast-paced, opportunity driven company that specializes in custom metal fabrication, chassis modification, suspension products, and aftermarket products and services. We supply parts to a wide variety of industries, including recreational vehicles, agriculture, transit bus, medical, trucking, and other industrial markets.

WHAT YOU’LL DO:

  • Research and source strategic suppliers and part procurement (domestic/overseas)  

  • Negotiate supplier pricing, terms, delivery, freight (domestic/overseas), warranty, etc.

  • Manage supplier relations, evaluating quality, delivery, & overall supplier performance

  • Collaborate with our Product Development and Sales teams on new product ideas

  • Manage and evaluate inventory levels; work closely with sales to understand customer forecast

  • Place supplier orders to meet production demands for immediate needs and items with long lead times

  • Research and resolve inventory discrepancies

  • Manage and resolve supplier quality & warranty issues

  • Cost analysis projects

WHAT WE’RE LOOKING FOR:

  • Prior purchasing, procurement (domestic/overseas), or supply chain experience preferred

  • Skill and high interest in cost and other numerical analysis

  • Confidence to professionally negotiate and manage supplier relations

  • Customer service mindset a must, both with suppliers and internal teammates

  • Self-motivated and self-managed

  • Desire to learn in depth about how the materials & components are made and used in final assembly

  • High adaptability to respond to new and quickly changing material requirements and lead times

  • Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines in a fast-paced, ever-changing, environment

  • Extremely detail oriented and good follow-through skills

  • Excellent professional communication skills, both verbal and written

  • Ability to analyze data, stay on top of world events (tariffs, Force Majeure, commodity changes) and trends to make solid purchasing decisions

  • Proficiency with manufacturing software systems and Excel
